Patient Identity
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Identity tab within a patient record displays and manages the patient’s personal identifiers. In simulated environments, editing is disabled to prevent real patient data from being entered into test records.
Sections
Section titled “Sections”Profile
Section titled “Profile”Edit the patient’s profile information via the three-dot menu. The Classification card is system-generated and read-only.
Identifiers
Section titled “Identifiers”View and edit existing patient identifiers. Click the + button to add new identifiers.
Addresses
Section titled “Addresses”Manage patient addresses. You can add multiple addresses using the + button.
Communication
Section titled “Communication”Update contact information such as phone numbers and email addresses. Use the + button to add additional communication methods.
Danger Zone
Section titled “Danger Zone”Located at the bottom of the Identity tab. Use this section to permanently delete the patient record.
To delete a patient:
- Scroll to the Danger Zone section
- Type the required confirmation phrase
- Confirm the deletion
Deletion cannot be undone, but deleted patients can be restored within 30 days (see below).
Filtering Deleted Patients
Section titled “Filtering Deleted Patients”Deleted patients are not shown in the default All Patients view. Switch to the Deleted filter on the Charts landing page to see patients that have been removed.
Restoring a Deleted Patient
Section titled “Restoring a Deleted Patient”Deleted patients can be restored within 30 days of deletion. To restore:
- Use the banner that appears at the top of the deleted patient’s record, or
- Use the Restore option in the Danger Zone section of the Identity tab
Restoring a patient returns them to active status in the patient list.
